Azimio Leaders Visit Impeached Deputy President at Karen Hospital, Promise Judicial Fight

      Nairobi, October 18, 2024
Azimio party leaders, led by Wiper party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, paid a visit to the ailing Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, at Karen Hospital earlier today. The Deputy President, who has been under medical care, is reported to be in a stable condition following recent health complications.

The visit comes in the wake of Hon. Gachagua's impeachment, which Dr. Musyoka criticized as an "impunity-filled" process. Addressing the press outside the hospital, Dr. Musyoka emphasized that the Deputy President was not accorded a fair hearing during the proceedings. He decried the speed and manner in which the impeachment was conducted, terming it as unjust and a violation of due process.

"The impeachment of DP Gachagua lacked fairness, and it is alarming to see such a crucial decision made without affording him an opportunity for proper defense. We will take this fight to the judiciary to ensure justice is served," said Dr. Musyoka.

The Azimio leaders, standing in solidarity with the Deputy President, vowed to challenge the impeachment in court, signaling a major legal battle ahead. Despite his health challenges, Hon. Gachagua remains determined to clear his name and continue serving the country, according to sources close to the family.

The political landscape remains tense, as Azimio leaders prepare to defend Gachagua's position and challenge the legitimacy of his impeachment.

More updates to follow as the situation unfolds.
