The Kenya Kwanza administration, now at the midpoint of its term, has outlined key achievements in implementing the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), aimed at addressing the cost of living, food security, economic growth, and job creation.
The government has enhanced digital inclusion by increasing fiber optic connectivity by 53%, establishing 1,563 public Wi-Fi hotspots, and digitizing 20,985 government services. Youth employment initiatives like Jitume and Ajira have significantly expanded, employing 182,568 young people, up from 41,382 in 2022.
Creative Sector & Youth Empowerment
Investment in Kenya’s creative industry has soared, with funding increasing by 662% from Kshs. 13.65M in 2022 to Kshs. 104.05M in 2025. Additionally, the number of film hubs has tripled. The government has also engaged 176,505 youth in national development and launched the Presidential Innovation Challenge to support top innovators.
Public service efficiency has been boosted through the modernization of human capital systems and increased training. The number of Huduma Centers has grown, serving 13.5 million Kenyans. Legal aid and access to justice have also improved, with 35,165 indigents receiving legal assistance in 2025.
Security operations such as Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) and Operation Amani Boni (OAB) have been intensified to maintain stability. Investments in military infrastructure, including Level IV hospitals, fiber optic cabling, and new housing, have improved the welfare of security personnel.
The affordable housing initiative has created 244,232 jobs, with 130,988 units under construction and 127,476 in procurement. Efforts to automate land services have also led to a 102% increase in the issuance of title deeds.
Kenya has produced 1.7 billion seedlings and grown 758 million trees, with additional efforts to rehabilitate mangrove and bamboo forests. Investments in meteorological services have improved weather forecasting, enhancing disaster preparedness.
Tourism has rebounded with a 60% increase in international visitors, generating Kshs. 184.11B in revenue. Measures to mitigate human-wildlife conflict include a Kshs. 2.36B compensation fund and a 320km wildlife fence construction project.
The implementation of the Social Health Insurance Act has increased health coverage, with 19.7 million Kenyans now registered. Investments in digital healthcare have provided 7,000 devices to public health facilities, ensuring better service delivery.
The Hustler Fund has disbursed Kshs. 63.5M to individuals and Kshs. 196.8M to micro and small enterprises. Loan limits have increased, allowing entrepreneurs greater financial flexibility to expand their businesses.
As the Kenya Kwanza administration moves into the second half of its term, government spokesperson Hon. Sen. (Dr.) Isaac Mwaura emphasized the commitment to sustaining these gains, ensuring continued growth and prosperity for all Kenyans.
