DNA Forges Historic Alliance with KIKAO Youth Movement, Vows "Youth Tsunami" for 2027.

DNA Party Leader Hon. Godfrey Kanoti.

   Nairobi, 5th August 2025.

Kenya's political landscape witnessed a significant shift today as the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) formally welcomed the KIKAO Youth Movement into its fold, establishing a powerful new platform: the DNA Youth Movement. Announced by DNA Party Leader Hon. Godfrey Kanoti at a Nairobi press briefing, this historic union positions DNA as the declared "political home" for a new generation of Kenyan leaders, leveraging KIKAO's extensive grassroots network active across 40 counties as its foundation.

Hon. Kanoti hailed the moment as "revolutionary," framing it as a direct response to the exclusion and immense challenges facing the nation's youth. "Kenya’s youth are no longer knocking on doors. You are opening your own," he proclaimed, signaling a decisive rejection of past political tokenism. Demonstrating this commitment beyond rhetoric, DNA immediately appointed key KIKAO figures to senior party positions. Chepkoech Towett assumes the role of Deputy Party Leader, while KIKAO CEO Bright Shitemi becomes Deputy National Chairperson, retaining his movement leadership. Stanley Muchiri, James Okumu, Eugene Ochieng, and Jagero Odior were named Secretaries for Public Policy and Economic Affairs, Political Affairs, Mobilization, Partnerships and Fundraising, and Publicity and Information, respectively.

Kanoti starkly outlined the urgency driving this alliance, citing alarming statistics including over 35% youth unemployment and widespread underemployment. He also condemned the escalating violence against young activists, stating, "Young Kenyans have been abducted, tortured, and even killed for daring to speak out. This is about survival." Both leaders emphasized that this integration was far from symbolic. DNA is not just welcoming you; we are investing in you." Echoing this, Bright Shitemi described the move as an audacious but timely injection of new-generation aspirants and leaders into the political space, continuing young people's fight against corruption and poor governance. "This is the party for the youth, for all Kenyans that hope for a better future," Shitemi asserted. "Together we will change the DNA of our leadership and our country."

Strategically, the integration of KIKAO's robust structure provides DNA with a significant nationwide organizational boost ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Kanoti praised KIKAO as "a movement with muscle," stating, "By integrating KIKAO into DNA, we are supercharging our youth engine." The newly formed DNA Youth Movement will focus on political education, mentorship, and creating leadership pathways. Kanoti concluded with a powerful rallying cry directed at Gen Z and Millennials: "You are not the future; you are the present. And you will no longer ask permission to lead, 2027 will be the Youth Tsunami,  the only question is: Will you be part of the wave, or will you watch it pass you by? The time for frustration has passed. The time for power is here."

Green Gold Rush: UK-Funded Forum Links African Innovators with Investors to Build a Cleaner Future.

Nairobi, Kenya, By George Mutua. The air in Nairobi was thick with more than just the usual buzz of a city on the move today. Inside a conference hall, it crackled with the electricity of ambition and the smell of a greener future. More than 150 of Africa’s brightest green manufacturing entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders gathered for the Pan-African Green Business Building (GBB) Forum , a high-stakes meeting designed to turn climate-positive ideas into booming, job-creating businesses. Funded by the UK government through its flagship Manufacturing Africa programme, the one-day event was a vibrant marketplace of innovation. Its mission was simple but audacious: to connect the capital with the continent's most promising green startups, unlocking what research suggests could be a $2-4 billion a year market by 2030, and creating over 200,000 jobs in the process. Nairobi was the natural home for this gathering. Fresh off its crown as the continent's top destination f...

KPC Foundation and eKitabu Forge a New Blueprint to Rescue Kenya’s Isolated Creatives.

Rachel Gathoni, the Kenya Pipeline Company Managing Trustee and Foundation Manager Ngecha, Kiambu, Kenya, by George Mutua .  In the shadow of a bustling Nairobi that often races past its art, a quiet but determined revolution is taking root. At the Mlango Farm artistic community in Ngecha, a serene landscape of sustainable agriculture and deep creative history, the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Foundation has launched the  Sanaa  initiative. This is not merely another corporate social responsibility event. Instead, it is a deliberate, structured attempt to diagnose and treat the chronic isolation and market fragmentation that have long plagued Kenya's writers, visual artists, and musicians. For one day, over fifty creatives, ranging from Gen Z digital poets to veteran painters who have been wielding brushes for forty years, sat elbow-to-elbow with corporate leaders. Their mission was brutally simple yet historically elusive:  to stop creating alone and start ...
