Umoja Summit Party Rebrands as Democratic National Alliance Party (DNA)

                   NAIROBI KENYA.

In a significant political development, the Umoja Summit Party (USP) has officially changed its name to the Democratic National Alliance Party (DNA). The rebranding was formalized today with the issuance of a Certificate of Change of Name by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

Assistant Registrar of Political Parties, Ali Abdullahi, presented the certificate to party officials, confirming the organization’s compliance with Section 20 of the Political Parties Act, CAP 7D. The provision mandates that any change in party particulars must be published in the Kenya Gazette and two national newspapers, with any objections addressed within the stipulated timelines.

“The Democratic National Alliance Party has fully complied with the requirements of the law, and we are pleased to issue this certificate today,” Abdullahi stated during the brief ceremony at the ORPP offices. He was accompanied by Director of Compliance D.N. Kinuthia and other officials.

Barrack Muluka, the party’s Secretary General, expressed gratitude for the Registrar’s objective evaluation and prompt process facilitation. “We appreciate the ORPP for ensuring that the legal provisions and standard procedures were duly observed,” Muluka remarked, while standing alongside elected leaders and party officials.

The name change to DNA marks a new chapter for the party, which aims to reposition itself as a formidable force in Kenya’s political landscape. The move is expected to influence alliances and voter perception ahead of future elections.

The association accuses the KMPDC, under the leadership of its chairperson Prof. Stanley Khainga , of ignoring its mandate to ensure that Kenyans access the highest attainable standard of healthcare. KDA warns that this misstep poses a serious threat to patient safety and public health, potentially leading to ...
